Student opportunities and activities

At Eastern Creek Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights

Debating and public speaking

Students can develop their thinking, communication and teamwork skills through debating and public speaking. They also have the chance to compete in local and state events.

Choir

Our choir rehearses regularly, developing vocal skills and confidence to perform at assemblies, special events, and school celebrations throughout the year.

Dance

Our dance group trains throughout the year, developing skills and teamwork, and performs with energy at assemblies, festivals, and community events.

Djembe

Our djembe group meets weekly, where students learn rhythm and teamwork, performing proudly at school assemblies, community events, and special school celebrations.

Chess

Our Chess Club meets weekly, where students develop strategy and teamwork skills while representing our school in the exciting inter-school competition ‘Chess on the Hill.'

Art

Students build foundational art skills in class and present their work at our school art exhibition. From there, selected students are invited to attend an 'Art on the Hill' workshop ar Rooty Hill High School to further build their skills in Creative Arts

Liven deadly

Our Aboriginal students meet weekly in the ‘Liven Deadly’ program, building culture and connection while learning and celebrating traditions, dances, songs and cultural ceremonies.

Leadership

Students have opportunities to develop leadership through roles such as school captains, vice captains, prefects, sports house leaders, SRC members, library monitors, and Playground Pals, guiding others and making a positive impact on our school community.

Trips and excursions

Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence, develop teamwork and see how their learning connects to the world.
