2018 Sydney Dance Sport Championships

On Thursday 25^th October the ECPS Stage 2 and Stage 3 Dance Sport Teams competed at the Sydney Dance Sport Championships at Penrith Sports Stadium.

The competition is a modern ballroom dancing event where 30 local schools compete in a range of dances, in both partner and team events across two days of competition. Our Stage 2 team competed in Samba, Australian Barn Dance and Slow Rhythm dances and our Stage 3 team competed in Cha Cha, Gypsy Tap and the Waltz.

The atmosphere at the competition was exhilarating, as more and more of ECPS students were selected to compete in semi-finals and grand-final events. By the end of the day every ECPS student successfully advanced to a grand-final event.

Our school achieved wonderful results throughout the day including: Jayden and Haliana- 1^st place in Cha Cha, Reniel and Tyarn- 1^st place in Waltz, Stage 3 Team- 2^nd place overall, Rayaansh and Sophie- 2^nd place in Gypsy Tap, Dezalon and Manusiu- 4^th place in Samba, Simon and Ekaterina- 4^th place in Slow Rhythm, Stage 2 Team- 5^th place overall, Antonio and Alivia- 5^th place overall, Cooper and Mackenzie- 5^th place in Australian Barn Dance and Ryshaanth and Lilley- 5^th place in Waltz.

We are thrilled to announce that Eastern Creek Public School also achieved 1^st place overall within the competition. All dancers performed beautifully and represented ECPS with pride. Congratulations to all students for a wonderful day full of friendly competition, admirable sportsmanship and outstanding achievement.
